This great show was screened live as part of the 2020 Galway Science & Technology Virtual Festival Show. It is a fun, engaging and informative show that will capture the minds of all young children. We hope you will don your Superhero costume, sit back with all the family and enjoy the experience and be ready for lots of activities including:
- Sue McGrath’s awesome Bouncing Bubbles show,
- Dr Michel Dugon’s bugs and spiders and
- James Soper will teach you how to juggle while he explains about the forces of gravity.
- The Galway Atlantaquaria brings you on a tour,
- Dr How Science Wows explains forces
- We will then shoot off to Lapland for a special message from the man himself.
- The show will feature the Science of Exercise and Dance with get off the couch and Zumba class and a great Dance Off at the end to Jason Derulo’s “In my Head”
- The winners of ReelLIFE Science video competition will be announced
- Medtronic will demonstrate their ventilator machines and show some cool experiments
- Merit Medical will demonstrate how to make your own Lava Lamp
- Dr Barry Fitzgerald will tell you all about the Science of Santa and how he will ensure to be safe this year and
- A message from Lapland

The Fantastic DNA! Workshop has 2 discovery activities based around DNA, the key molecule to life. Participants will extract DNA from a banana and build a DNA model! Fantastic DNA is supported by a SFI Discover award.

Find out who won this year’s ReelLIFE SCIENCE competition, where over 3,000 young people representing 200 schools and youth groups produced almost 600 entertaining and educational short science videos. Each 1-3 minute video explores a different aspect of STEM, including How Things Work, Climate Action and Science on the Farm! The ReelLIFE SCIENCE programme is based in NUI Galway and supported by a Science Foundation Ireland Discover award.
