Reconnecting with Nature
The Lifes2Good Foundation are supporting, through the Galway National Park City initiative, the provision of scientific, artistic and learning equipment and materials to create Outdoor Classroom kits which can be used by schools, third level colleges and educational groups to undertake scientific and other learning activities in local publicly accessible areas of biodiversity value.
The purpose of these kits is help in the process of creating an environmentally aware and environmentally active population in Galway city by utilising its major parks and seashores as Outdoor Classrooms, Outdoor Labs and Living Labs where participants can understand and experience the natural world, become aware of the threats to its existence by man-made Climate Change and where they can feel they can make an important contribution in restoring the health of the biosphere.
A introduction to the Galway National Park City and information on the new mobile Outdoor Classroom project will be provided at an online meeting for Galway city and county primary schools facilitated by the Galway Education Centre which will take place at 4.30pm, Monday November 15th.
