NUI Galway will welcome ~40 TY students on campus for 9.30am to 12pm to participate in an exhibition of NUIG climate & sustainability research focused on topics as diverse as
-biodiversity
-climate change and geology
-climate change and weather
-energy and sustainability
The group will be greeted by Professor Dónal Leech at 9.30am in the biology laboratory of the MRI Annex on campus.
Students will be segregated into 2 groups of 20 (preferable if this is pre-arranged with School(s), and that each group has a teacher assigned to accompany group).
Group 1 timetable
9.35am-10:05am: Biodiversity trail walk and talk (G. Kindermann/C. Carlin)
10:05am-10:35am: Climate, weather & energy activity. StreamAir suite Arts/Science building (L. Fossum/R. Monaghan)
10:35-10:45am: Walk back to MRI building
10.45am-11.15am: Biodiversity activity. Zoology museum MRI building (M. Dugon)
11:15am-11:20am: Walk to MRI Annex
11.20am: Climate & geology activity and debate, Biology lab MRI Annex (J. Murray/G. Bishop)
Finish by 12 pm.
